StalkBuster – A clever strike against the corn borer!

The 460pro StalkBuster harvesting header with four big gatherer drums and two intake drums is a sturdily built, no-nonsense machine. With its working width of 6.0 metres it fits perfectly into the KEMPER product range.Specially shaped flails to completely crush the stubbles.

Destroys the winter residence of the corn borer.

The stubble is the best overwintering home for the larvae. An intensive destruction of the stubble is very important.

According to the FAO the corn borer destroys 4% of the global maize cultivation area. This corresponds to the food requirements of approx. 60 mill. people.

The StalkBuster is integrated into the rotary crop header. It crushes the stubbles intensively before they are pushed down by the tyres of the forage harvester.

Mulching System Stalkbuster

- Specially shaped flails to completely crush the stubbles

- Each stubble is hit up to 3 times. The stubbels are completely smashed.

- The flails are coated with tungsten to reduce wear.

- A ratchet clutch protects each unit individually

- Pneumatic pressure system for soft adaptation to ground contours

- Pneumatic cylinder integrated into the base frame

- Contact pressure of the units adjustable via control valve with hardly any ground contact

Flail change in seconds without special tools due to polygon gearing

Exact ground adaptation through individually suspended units. Even lower stubbles are attaced.

Automatic lifting of the mulching units during reversing when speed is lower than 0,4 km/h. This avoids demages of the units. The mulching units are back in working position by moving forward. The driver can concentrate on essiential shopping work.

Fast disassembly of the hood, if mulching is no t required. Just one bolt.

Transport of the maschine

Safe and secure – must be Kemper

It is not only in the field that the 400plus series is an innovation: the headers have important advantages on the public roads. The comfort support wheel automatically ensures maximum safety and meets with the most stringent road traffic regulations. The driver has a perfect view of the road. Easy turning and optimised weight also simplify transport. When the machine is folded, two safety covers are automatically put in place an both sides of the machine. The integrated lights are automatically connected, too. Uncomfortable manual attaching and detaching now belong to the past. This helps to save valuable time – the driver does not need to leave the cab. The SPFH is very quickly ready for chopping, which results in increased productivity. The comfort support wheel is o ffered for 8, 10 and 12 row, 400plus series headers for attachment to Claas SPFH.

ntegrated lights are automatically connected with an electric coupler.

Fully automatic folding of the two side covers.

The wheel is parked while chopping, no extra weight carried on the header.

Cutting system

Row independent cutting system

Row independent cutting system with high speed cutting rotors and freewheel mechanism. Cuts across the entire cutting width by means of enclosed saw type rotor blades with replaceable segments. Fast rotating cutting rotors also cut under heavy circumstances, for example, weeds or whole crop silage.

Blades

Tungsten carbide coated saw type blades, manufactured with quality certification, self sharpening, lower load placed on clutches and transmissions. Available as a service set.

Cleaner

The big drum machines range features special shaped cleaners. The sharp edged maize stubble is broken up by the cleaners placed under the cutting rotors. This not only protects the tyres of the forage harvester, but also speeds up the decomposition of the stubble.

Drum Pointers

The Pro series from Kemper now have a new patented tooth shape with a ‘claw’ that securely grips and holds the plants and guides them straight into the feed channel. This new drum design latches every single plant even on headlands.

New flat drum design

In down crop it is important that the pointers of the header go under the lodged maize plants. The new low designed gathering drum avoid that plants are pushed forward. Critical crops flow directly over the drum towards the cross-feed channel. Crop accumulation leading to blockages are reduced to a minimum. A big relieve for the driver as it results in fewer stops and reduces the need for reversing.

Adjustable Header angle (400pro for Claas Forage Harversters)

To allow adaptation to different tire sizes and operating conditions, the header tilt can be adjusted in four different stages. This is done conveniently by adjusting the catch eyelets at the top of the monuting  frame and the quick coupler at the bottom accordingly.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT

rigid stalk lifter tips

The rigid stalk lifter tips are useful for picking up down crops.

Whole crop silage (WCS) kit

WCS kit improves the throughput.

The bonus in equipment

Stress-free operation – thanks to the automatic row guidance with the new KEMPER Sensor.

The new sensor in the central crop divider assists steering.

A magnet is embedded in the plastic. The black sensor measures the distance and obtains a steering signal.

Advantages of the new KEMPER Sensor

- Increased working speed thanks to automatic row guidance

- Lower stress on the driver, bringing improved performance

- Full driver-concentration on what is important

- The harvester does not lose its track even when a row is missing

- Innovative software compensates for missing signals

- Low-wear, zero-servicing design of the steering system

2-stage gearshift

A 2-stage gearshift optimizes the feed speed, especially for long cutting lengths.

Liquid-cooled friction clutch

The KEMPER solution for optimal power transmission prevents overheating, provides longer service life than standard type clutches - available as a field installed kit.

The electro-hydraulic lateral tilt frame

The electro-hydraulic lateral tilt frame provides ideal adaptation to the ground and an even chopping pattern, particularly on hillsides or over stony ground.

The sensor integrated into the crop divider can move vertically and horizontally. Uneven ground or stones cause it to move and generate pulses.

The pulses from the sensor are used by the harvester software to control the hydraulic cylinder in the lateral tilting frame, generating vertical and horizontal adjustments.

Advantages of the electronic pendulum frame

- Active ground adaptation and regulation of the attachment height

- Active regulation using a sensor in the outside tips

- Adjustment by hydraulic cylinder

- Consistent harvesting with tall stubbles

- Minimisation of the feed contamination

- Reduced wear costs an less servicing work

Increased durability and minimal wear

Professional customers prefer Kemper harvesting headers because of their high versality and operational reliability. They achieve a higher annual throughput and are expecting a longer service life and a minimum maintenance during the season. Kemper has taken this into account and offers longlasting, heavy-duty components for all critical wear parts of the Pro series. This applies to parts like saw blades, skid shoes, pointers and various feeding drums.
